Sheet Layout Version 9 has all the features you need to improve your efficiency. Whether or not if you're a weekend hobbyist or a full featured production shop Sheet Layout offers the little things that make it a better optimization solution than competing products.

Distributed in over 50 countries world wide, Sheet Layout Version 9 has kept all the features that made Sheet Layout a favorite among diverse user groups around the world. New features and enhancements take Sheet Layout to a performance level unmatched by the competition. Compare us, you'll see.

1) SL9 now includes CAD drawing capabilities and CNC machining macros. These are the most innovative features to hit a basic or advanced material optimizer in years!

Can your optimizer produce CAD drawings like the following?
Can it display the drawings on the actual layout diagrams?
Can it generate the CNC tool path to cut the following shape?

If not SL9 is the optimizer for you!

Drawing "macros" which are defined graphically one operation at a time
Macros can be combined together to produce complex shapes
These macros can be applied to one or many parts to minimize your work
The part drawings are drawn directly on the layout diagrams for easy viewing
Parts with or without drawing features can be rotated for maximum optimization

2) You can now build projects visually by assigning a picture to each raw material. Visual checks help to prevent errors and after all, shouldn't your software make your job easier and more error proof? You can assign any of the following pictures to your materials including; Sheet Materials, Lumber, Fasteners, Finishes, and Components. Select from a library of pictures or import your own picture.

3) By popular demand we have added the ability to print multiple diagrams on a single piece of paper. Now you have more options than ever before:

1 diagram with a cutting list below the diagram (This remains the most popular choice)
2 diagrams per page to save paper
and even 4 diagrams per page

4) User Defined Labels - also by popular demand you can now actually design your own labels, and, the content shown on them.

Include up to 10 different data fields on labels such as Job #, Part #, and Subassembly.
Specify the label size and number of labels per page
Specify what you want printed on the label and position it where you want it
. . . . and even specify the font type and font size

5) Cost calculations by the board foot for lumber costs, by the sheet or by the square foot for plywood and other sheet materials.
6) Enhanced Edge Banding capabilities. You can have a different edge material and compensation amount for all four edges.
7) Search and replace materials allows you to evaluate project costs using alternate materials.
8) . . . and for our high end users, you can even convert the drawings into CNC machine code.

Of course, we've kept the old standby features that everyone likes such as:

The ability to mix English and/or metric units
"FAST" fraction shortcuts cut your data entry time in half and helps eliminate mistakes
- Instead of 14 13/32", 25 24/32"
- Enter only 14 13, 25 24 and SL will add the rest.
Color or B&W drawings (now with cross hatching controls to save ink and toner)
5 material categories for easy maintenance of large projects.
